Subsidies Provided

A third of the cost of additional residential quarters erected by the Y.M.C.A. and the YAV.C.A. will be given by the Government, so that these organisations may be helped to provide accommodation for young people who have to leave their homes to work in the cities, said the Minister of Finance, Mr. W. Nash, in Wellington. This will mean that the new transit hostel planned by the Wellington YAV.C.A., to be built in Boulcott street, will be subsidised by the Government. The new YAV.C.A. hostel in Wellington will provide accommodation for an .\tra 100 girls.
