HANHAM PERPLEXED

MURPHY’S REFUSAL (P.A.) TIMARU. Jan. 29. Bos Murphy’s refusal to sign articles with the Hastings Boxing Association to meet him was perplexing, said Cliff Hanham yesterday. “I am looking forward to meeting him as I think I will provide as good opposition as any boxer in New Zealand,” said Hanham. “I know he is not afraid of me, yet I find it hard to understand why the negotiations of so many associations to bring us together have failed because of his unwillingness. He may have sound, reasons, but as far as I am concerned there is a good purse going begging.”
