Fruit Factory Fire
Fire gutted the main boiler-house and engineers and carpenters’ workshops of the Government fruit processing factory at Motueka on Sunday. The factory was to commence work for the season within a few weeks. Struck by Ferry
A small yacht, manned by a girl and two youths, was struck by the starboard side of the vehicular ferry Frances Peat as it was leaving the Devonport wharf on Sunday. The yacht was overturned. but the crew were picked up by a launch almost immediately. No one was injured.
