Officer Candidates’ Course.
The start at Trentham military camp yesterday of the regular forces officer candidates’ course was marked by a visit of inspection by the GovernorGeneral. Sir Bernard Freyberg, who opened the course and addressed the officers, who represent all ranks from second lieutenant to colonel. The officers attending the course all served in the theatre of operations in the recent war. Included are thi#.e officers from the British Army and f six from the Indian Army. The subjects included in the course have been selected with a view to teaching the candidates the peace administration, which they will be called on to carry out when posted to appointments in New Zealand. In many respects the work will resemble that done at a junior staff course and will include a high proportion of students’ discussions and lec-hircs.-P.A.
