HEAVY MACHINERY SOVIET ZONE OF REICH UNKNOWN DESTINATION (11 a.m.) LONDON. Dec. 20. A report published in the official organ of the Russian Army in Germany admits that the .Soviet occupation authorities have produced nearly three and a half times a; much heavy machincry in their zone of Germany as the amount laid down in the four-Power agreement on the levels of German industry. The report states that since the Russians took over their zone they produced over £6,500,000 worth of heavy machinery from German factories under their control, compared with the Allied Control Council figure of £1.875.000. ' , _ . It does not disclose what the Russians have been doing with the finished machinery but it denies that they intend to dismantle and remove the remainder of the heavy industrial plants in eastern Germany. Referring to the armament plants, the report' states that most of the important German war material manufacturing factories under Russian control have now been “liquidated.”
