THEFT OF BANK NOTES

(P.A.) AUCKLAND. Dec. 10. A sum of about £BO in bank notes was stolen from the office safe of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s wool store in t.he Strand. Parnell, at the week-end. The thief, who left no evidence behind to show that a forced entry into the building had been made, discovered the key to the safe in the office, which is situated on the ground floor. A screwdriver, found in another part of the store, was used to prise open a cash container in the safe.
