CHRISTMAS RATIONS
TEA, SUGAR, MEAT, BUTTER EXTRA SUPPLY AVAILABLE (S.R.) WELLINGTON. Dec. 10. Details of the extra rations available over Christmas were given to-day by the food and rationing controller, Mr. A. J. Costello. Tea and sugar coupons 9 to 12 and butter coupons 9 to 11 are available from next Monday. December 10, up to January 19, 1947. Coupons 5 to 8 expire on December 22 except for butter coupon No. 8 covering the special halfpound allowance, which expires on December 25. Meat coupons No. 9 are valid from December 16 and coupons No. 10 from December 23. These coupons expire as set out in the coupon calendar on the back cover of the ration book. Mr. Costelloe said that the additional ration of meat announced by the Minister of Supply, Mr. D. G. Sullivan, would be released by an increase in the value of H and J coupons No. 8. In the North Island coupon H 8 would be worth 9d and coupon J 8 would be worth 6d, and in the South Island their values would be lid and 8d respectively.
