FIGHT POSTPONED
EMPIRE LIGHT TITLE JAMES’ EXCESS WEIGHT (9 a.m.) SYDNEY. Dec. 11. The Empire lightweight title fight between Ron James and Vic Patrick has been postponed but if James is fit and within the lightweight limit of 9st 91b it will be staged on Saturday week. James and Patrick were to have met on Saturday night. However James is suffering from congestion due to a cold He has cold sores i n his face which have prevented him boxing since Saturday His weight has increased to IfJst 311 b. and bo has to get that down to tho 9.9 limit. Patrick's manager. Ernest Mcijuillan said that .Tames would have to make the 9.9 limit fer tho fight to go on. Patrick would not fight, anyone over Pic lightweight limit said McQuillan and that included -Tames
