NEW INDUSTRIES

LINK WITH ENGLAND Returning after a three months’ business tour of the United Kingdom, during which he explored the possibility of a link-up between local and English industries, Mr. Dudley Chambers, an Auckland accountant, has returned by the Gothic Star. Mr Chambers said he had been negotiating for the development of industries in this country, and the scheme would be mutually beneficial to both the United Kingdom and New Zealand. As a result of his visit, he hoped that British families and tradesmen could be brought to New Zealand when shipping and accommodation were available to train local workers in the new industries it was proposed to establish. Commenting on the high regard in which New Zealand and New Zealanders were held in Britain, Mr. Chambers said that this was due to the splendid conduct of our troops while overseas.
