EXCITEMENT CAUSED
SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE RETURN REPORT DOUBTED (9 a.m.) BOMBAY, Sept. 22 Lahore was startled when the Indian Nationalist Army’s headquarters announced that a telegram had been received stating that Subhas Chandra Bose, leader of the provisional Government which the Japanese attempted to create in India, arrived in Peshawar The telegram is reported to have emanated from a reliable political source, but the Premier of the Punjab doubts its authenticity.
Subhas Chandra Bose, who was reported to have been fatally injured in an air crash soon after the surrender of Japan, is still alive, says a statement issued by his party, the All-India Forward Bloc. The statement says that Bose will reappear at an opportune time and lead “a final revolution to free India from the foreign yoke,"
