Mr. M. H. Miller, Auckland, is visiting his grandson, Mr. J. Miller, Wairoa.—Mr. R. G. Deighton, Stratford, is on a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Deighton, Wairoa.—Mr. and Mrs. Funlie, Napier, have been on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. W. Smith, Wairoa.—Mr. H. Harland, Masterton, is a visitor to Wairoa.—Mr. Don Haggerty, of the Railway Department, Wairoa, leaves on transfer to Napier on Thursday. Private E. Pemberton, who suffered the loss of a leg in the war and who has been_ receiving treatment at the military hospital in Christchurch, has sufficiently recovered to return to his home at Wairoa. Mr. W. Taylor, Kaitawa, is a patient in the Wairoa Hospital. Last week the nursing staff of the Wairoa Hospital tendered Miss Joyce Hedley, who is shortly to be married, a “kitchen” afternoon. Miss Hedley, who trained at Wairoa and who for the last year or so has been a popular figure, will be much missed. The matron. Miss E. S. Harvey, asked the guest of the occasion to accept with the good wishes of her fellow-nurses a large and varied collection of useful commodities for use in the kitchen. The recipient suitably replied. Major Vic. Butler, who was assistant manager of the N.Z.E.F. Rugby team during its tour, has been visiting Wairoa.
