AIR FORCE STRIKES

PRIME MINISTER’S OPINION

(P.A.) DUNEDIN, May 3. “I do not think there is any occasion for the Air Force or the Government to feel perturbed at the situation,” the Prime Minister, Mr. P. Fraser, said speaking of air force strikes. “Condemnation of the impatience of the men concerned would just be futile at this stage. “I am assured that every effort is being made to meet the position and to get the maximum number of men released in the minimum time, but the air force has a large number of very valuable machines which, unless cared for, will amount to a serious loss, and that requires men, “On the other hand, the desire of those who do not wish to continue serving to get their discharge as soon as possible is very understandable, and will be met as effectively and as expeditiously as possible.” The men resumed duties to-day, but the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
