OVERSEAS GIFTS

DISPOSAL IN BRITAIN SPECIAL DEPARTMENT LONDON. April 12. * A special department —the overseas gifts food —allocation centre has been established to deal with the distribution of food consignments because the response from the Dominions has been so generous. The department has thus far dealt with 2500 tons of preserves, including honey, tomato puree, powdered and condensed milk, canned fruit, soups, butter, sweets, and soap. The distribution of the gifts covered 1561 local authorities, 11,000 hospitals and 3353 charitable institutions.
