U.S. REPORTS DISCOUNTED IMPROVEMENT IN CROP NEW DELHI. April 12
“India’s need for food is still urgent, ’ said the Government’s Minister for Food. Sir Jawal Prasad Srivastava. American officials should have ascertained the facts from India before stating that the food prospects had improved after the recent rains.
“If supplies are reduced the results will be disastrous. Responsibility for starvation would lie with those making these statements,” he said.
