U.S. LOAN TO BRITAIN
APPROVAL BY COMMITTEE “REALISTIC PROPOSAL” (2 p.m.) WASHINGTON, April 12. The Senate Banking and Currency Committee, which voted by 14 to 5 in favour of the loan to Britain, reported the proposal as a “realistic and farsighted means for promoting the United States Government's objectives to secure through international cooperation a world in which all countries can live and work together in peace and prosperity.”
