YUGOSLAV DEMAND “PROPAGANDA CAMPS” BRITISH ATTACKED (9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 14. The allegation that men in a Yugoslav camp in the British zone in Germany were beaten until they withdrew their wish to return to Yugoslavia was made by Dr. Ales Bebler, Yugoslavian Foreign Under-Secretary, at a United Nations refugee committee meeting. He also alleged that Yugoslav former prisoners-of-war and sympathetic to the National Liberation Army were in camps in Austria and Germany under the control of quisling officers of the Royal General Staff. Propaganda against the present regime in Yugoslavia was carried on in these camps. One pamphlet which Dr. Bebler produced bore General Mikhailovitch’s photograph and tvas headed: “Keep your arms in order. Force the Yugoslac frontier. Carry the flag of liberty.” Other pamphlets gave long dissertations on atomic energy. Dr. Bebler suggested that a local commission of inquiry be set up.
