SYNTHETIC FOODS
GERMAN PRODUCTION PINE NEEDLE TEA (9,30 a.m.) LONDON, April 14. Fat from coal, tea from pine needles and biscuits from horse chestnuts are among the food substitutes developed by the German Institute for Food Nutrition, says Reuter’s correspondent in Berlin. The fat is like unflavoured meat dripping. The tea is rich in vitamins and flour from horse chestnuts makes "very edible biscuits.”
