J-FORCE RECRUITS
SECOND CONTINGENT
DEPARTURE ON TUESDAY
A further draft of recruits J Force will leave Gisborne on Tuesday for Papakura camp, travelling by roadservice vehicles leaving the Army Hail. Fitzherbert street, at 8 a.m. The draft will comprise 27 Europeans and 21 Maoris, the native recruits bringing the o.uota of the district up to the maximum of 44. It is possible that further European volunteers will be chosen from this district for a draft in the course of the next week or two. A majority of the men proceeding to camp next week have had some ti’aining as Territorials, or as air cadets, and a small number already have had overseas service to their credit. A minority will go into camp as raw “rookies.” The draft is as under:—
