BID TO FIRE LINER

LIVERPOOL DISCOVERY PATROLS GUARD SHIP (10 a.m.) LONDON, March 5. Strong patrols last night guarded the luxury liner Reina del Pacifico following an attempt to set fire to her in Liverpool docks. The Daily Mail's correspondent said that fire-watchers found a trail of creosote starting aft and leading to the hold where there was a lighted candle. Mr. Ramsay McDonald died aboard the Reina del Pacifico in 1937 while en route to South America.
