MEMBERSHIP ADVANTAGES The quarterly meeting of the Gisborne Tent. No. 54, was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall. Derby street, on Tuesday night, Mr. A. Livingston presiding over a good attendance. A circular was received from the district secretary, Christchurch, pointing, out the advantages of belonging to the society. . These were payment from the first day of sickness, no means test, sick benefit paid irrespective of income, no filling in of forms or disclosure of financial position, and a funeral benefit. Attention was also drawn to the life insurance scheme which was at lower rates than were available elsewhere. Congratulation a were extended to the members of the team which won the friendly societies* indoor bowling tournament, and also to members whose sons had recently returned from service overseas with the armed forces.. The following officers were elected:—Chief ruler, Mr. Cert. Sebire; deputy ruler, Mrs. .1. Crosby; immediate past chief ruler, Mr. A. Livingston. The installation was carried out in an impressive manner by past chief ruler, Mr. H. E. K. Gould.
