POPE ACCUSES RUSSIA
CATHOLICS PERSECUTED
CONDITIONS IN RUTHENIA (9.30 a.m) LONDON. Jan. 20.
The Pope strongly attacked the Russian Government’s attitude to the Catholic Church in Ruthenia in an encyclical, says the Exchange Telegraph's correspondent in Rome. The encyclical contains detailed descriptions of alleged persecutions in that area and denounces as “impossible” conditions under which the church is working.
