THEFT AND RECEIVING
OPOTIKI LAD’S OFFENCES GOODS WORTH £250 (P.A.) OPOTIKI, Jan. 17. In the Opotiki Police Court yesterday Milton James Richard Jamieson, aged 17, car painter’s assistant, Opotiki, pleaded guilty 7 to nine charges of stealing and two of receiving goods of a total value of £250. The thefts included five radio sets, the property of Fred. Wrigley, valued at £llO. sundry goods the property of Russell Stott valued at £O3. five floor rugs the property- of Daphne McCullough valued at £4O, and articles from other people. The accused, represented by Mr. N. V. Hodgson, stoutly maintained throughout that he was assisted by 7 two accomplices, whose names he refused to divulge. Sergeant J. Isbister, who prosecuted, said the police were unable to find evidence of this. On the indictable charges, the accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence. On the minor charges he was convicted and discharged.
