YAMASHITA’S PETITION

(9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 17. A few minutes after the arrival of an air mail petition from General Zamashita the Supreme Court granted him a stay of execution. The petition asked for a review of the Philippines Supreme Court decision denying his contention that the military commission was illegal.
