SINGAPORE STRIKE
CLAIM FOR HIGHER PAY 8000 QUIT EMPLOYMENT (1 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. Eight thousand employees of the British military administration struck to-day for higher wages, says the Associated Press correspondent at Singapore. The total number on strike in Singapore is now 10.000. Essential services are not affected. Japanese prisoners are carrying out many vacated jobs.
