Regent.—“ Our Hearts Were Young and Gay,” now at the Regent, Paramount’s sensational comedy “hit,” should have the whole town convulsed with laughter. Diana Lynn and Gail Russell bring all the hilarious incidents of the Book-of-the-Month best seller straight from the pages of “Our Hearts Were Young and Gay.” Here is captivating romance, hilarious comedy and one of the most refreshing films in a long time. The associate feature is traditionally “Regent.” Majestic.—A super-shocker horror film heads to-day’s programme at the Majestic Theatre. It is “House of Frankenstein,” with Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, John Carradine and J. Carrol Naish. Karloff is seen as a mad scientist in this firm, which re-creatcs some of the screen’s most macabre characters. It is not suitable entertainment for children. The associate feature is a western up to the best tradition of action-packed films, “Hail To The Rangers.” Charles Starrett is the star. King’s.—“ Greenwich Village,” which wiM commence a season at the King’s to-uay, is a bright comedy and introduces three new songs. Filmed in Technicolour the picture has a large cast, which includes Carmen Miranda. Don Ameche, William Bendix and Vivian Blaine. Don Ameche plays the part of Kenneth Harvey, whose ambition is to have a concerto which he has composed played in the Carnegie Hall. He leaves his native Kansas for New York of the “roaring 20’h” and Greenwich Village. Carmen Miranda, who takes the role of a hostess, fortune-teller, and entertainer in a “speak-easy.” meets Harvey.
