U.S. POLICY RESENTED
TALKS WITH ARABS
JEWS' ENTRY TO PALESTINE (9 n.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 25. Dr. A. H. Silver and Dr. S. S ; Wise, co-chairmen of the American Zionist Emergency Council, lodged with the Secretary of State, Mr. James Byrnes, a protest against the United States policy in consulting the Arabs as well as the Jews before reaching a decision on the basic situation in Palestine. The Zionists submitted a memorandum claiming that President noose vens assurances to King Ibn Saud, of Saudi Arabia, were invalid if they were inconsistent with American policy or the terms of the Palestine mandate. They argued that it was not conceivable that the establishment of a Jewish homeland would be hostile to the interests of the Arabs. President Truman’s request that 100,000 European Jews be allowed to enter Palestine was a gratii'ving positive act, whereas Mr. Attlee’s * plan to admit 1500 monthly was a tragic trickle.
