RETURN TO AMERICA
500 LOADED WARSHIPS (10 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 21. Five hundred warships are being returned to the United States from Britain, says the Sunday Express’ naval correspondent. All were built in American shipyards and transferred to the Royal Navy mainly to combat the U-boat menace. Included are 35 escort aircraft-carriers, seven submarines, many mine-sweepers, and patrol craft. It is believed that all will be scrapned.
