SINGAPORE INQUIRIES
CHILDREN LOST IN 1942 (10 a.m.) SINGAPORE, Oct. 21. The British military administration in Singapore is appealing lor news of white children who were lost when ships were sunk during the evacuation of Singapore in 1942 and who were believed to be growing up in Sumatra villages. Some of the children were last seen floating in lifebelts and boxes which were believed to be drifting ashore.
