'DROME-BUILDING UNITS (11 a.m.) RUGBY. July 2 One of the R.A.F.’s most unusual instruction units—the school of airfield construction —is located m a gravel pit not far from London. Ihe “bulldozer training school,” as it is familiarly known, lias trained hundreds of British and Allied airmen ,;o become skilled operators ol tractors bulldozers, excavators, graders and other earth-moving mechanical monsters essential to modern warfare.

The trainees of the school arc now serving all over the world witn R.A.F. airfield construction uni;;, ploughing forward in their mighty machines to carve airstrips from the steaming jungles in the Far East and in operational theatres often in the firing line itself.
