MASSES OF REFUGEES

SWITZERLAND INVADED (10 a.m.) LONDON, April 25. More than 10,000 refugees, the majority of whom are in a indescribable state of filth in old party uniforms and rags, have poured into Switzerland in the past 48 hours, says the British United Press' correspondetn on the Swiss frontier. Swiss authorities hurriedly put up emergency distribution centres, delousing stations and quarantine stations, but were unable to cope with the masses. Lines of hungry, escaped prisoners of war, foreign workers and nondescript individuals are patiently standing before the five border barriers, which are cut by icy winds. The Germans are trying many ruses to overcome the strict examination because storm troops. Gestapo officials and German males are being turned back. Swiss passports, officially or privately forged in Germany, are selling for 1000 marks.
