GREEK PEACE

TALKS WITH E.L.A.S. BEGINNING ON JAN. 25 GOVERNMENTS DELEGATE (9 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 22. The Greek Foreign Minister. M. Sofianopoulos announced that peace negotiations between the Greek Government and the E.L.A.S. were beginning at 4 ,p.m. on January 25 in Athens, says Reuter’s correspondent in Athens. It is confirmed that M. Sofianopoulos will lead the Government delegation. He has had first-hand contact with E.A.M. personalities and is known for his conciliatory views. Three Quisling Prime Ministers of Greece under German occupation will be tried within the next fortnight, according to an announcement from the Greek Minister of Justice, M. Kolyvas, quoted by the Cairo radio. They are General Tsolokoggou, who signed the armistice with the Germans at Salonika in April, 1941, Professor Logothetpoulos, who has fled to Germany and will be tried in his absence, and also M. John Allis.
