PATRIOTIC SPORTS

A sports meeting in aid of patriotic funds held recently in Tiniroto was very successful and as a result the local quota will be much reduced. Stone, 1 ; Mrs. Keith Evans, 2. 'filling the r>:, u r : S. Slone. 1 : B. Spence. 2. Stock Horse: K. Lambert, 1 ; B. Spence, 2. Children's ■ Bonding Race (under 15): G. McKenzie, l: Mary McKenzie, 2. Open Jump: Peter Richardson, 1 : Pat Kent. 2. Girl Rider: Ireva Law, 1 ; Mary McKenzie, 2. Bov Rider: Stan Richardson, 1 : F. Law, 2 Consolation Jump: Miss J. Bruce, I; S. Stone. 2. Chain ■ Stepping: T. Hill. Nail Driving: T. Fahy and Freddy Law. Mr. J. Sinton, Wairoa, gave every .satisfaction as judge. A '-holiday crowd, good music and floor made the dance following the Tiniroto sports most enjoyable. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. and Mrs. E. Porrctt, and the spot waltz by Mr. S. Stone and Miss J. Bruce. In the “first on the floor” dance Mr. G. Karaka and Miss M. Foot were tin* winners. Mr. and Mrs. Geoff Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Keilh Eva is and family, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Noblo-Cnmpbell for the sports and dance.— Mrs. T. B. Spence. Wainui Beach, is visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. arid Mrs. Bruce Spence, Ruakaka station.—The Misses N. and It. Law were the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Law.—Miss Stella Monro is the guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Morice, Whaknpunnkn station.
