HITS ON CARRIER
ITALY-BASED PLANES SORTIE OVER GENOA (11 a.m.) RUGBY. .lan. 7. Air operations in Italy on Saturday were severely hampered by bad weather. Fighters and lighter-bomb-ers of the Tactical Air Force successfully attacked enemy communications, supply dumps, enemy-occupied buildings, oil and gas tanks and shipping in north-eastern Italy. Hits were scored on an aircraft carrier at Genoa and on a motor vessel at lmporia, in the Italian Riviera.
On Friday night light bombers flew armed reconnaissances over the battle areas of north-eastern Italy and in the region of the north-eastern Po Valley. Enemy transport roads and a supply dump were attacked. Two of our aircraft are missing from these operations.
