YUGOSLAV ATTITUDE TRIESTE-FIUME ISSUE (0 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 7. “The only way of ensuring lasting peace between Yugoslavia and Italy is fur Trieste and Flume, which were annexed under the Pact of London, to be rejoined to Yugoslavia,” said Dr. Smoklalca, commissioner for foreign affairs oil the Yugoslav National Liberation Committee. “Italy to-day is not an ally and cannot behave as a creditor, not even on the basis of the immoral Pact of London.”
Dr. Smoklaka pointed out that the great majority of the population of Trieste and Fiumc arc of Yugoslav extraction and language.
