FOOD PARCELS
PRISONER OF WAR CAMPS fP A ) WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. Reports of visits by International Red Cross delegates to two camps have been received by the Prisoner; of War -inquiry Office. These are Oflag XIIIB. visited early in August, and Stalag IXC, seen the same. month. There are four doctors and one chaplain on the first camp, and the living conditions are ,described as excellent. Most of the officers had single rooms or one shared between two. No, complaints were made regarding the food Games were played and theatrical shows held. There was.an orchestra and choir. a possibility that a reserve of 5000 food parcels would be built up. Good ail raid shelters were provided The conditions at the othei camp were described ns satisfactory and since the previous visit there had been additions to . the camp furniture and the prisoners now had the use of a small sports ground. The food p.ai cel reserve was sufficient for two months.
