REPAIRS TO RUHR

REBUILDING ATTEMPTS

In order to cope with the heavy damage in the Ruhr caused by Royal Air Force raids, the Germans have sent the Todt organisation there to carry out repairs and try to protect vital works against further damage. This -organisation has carried out all Germany’s defence works, including the building of the Siegfried Line and the so-called Atlantic Wall. Some agents of the organisation have already arrived in the Ruhr, according to the German news agency. It relies chiefly on foreign labour in the occupied territories, but will use mainly Germans in the work in the Ruhr.
