AUSTERE CHRISTMAS
From present, indications it appears that many of the usual incidentals of Christmas fare will be missing this year, certainly most of the speci.d “trimmings.” A Wellington grocer said that many lines will be totally unobtainable and others in only very limited quantities. No one, of course, would ever be short of food in New Zealand, he said, but there would definitely be only plain fare for the people this Christmas.
