THEFT OF NEWSPAPER
The theft of a newspaper from a letter-box at a private residence cost Edward lan Vowell, storeman, £5 in the Magistarte’s Court, when he was charged before Mr. 11. P. Lawry, S.M.. in Palmerston North. Senior-Sergeant Mclntyre stated that as the result of complaints Constable O’Connell kept a watch on the premises for two mornings. On the second accused rode on the footpath and removed a paper which was hanging out of the letter-box. The constable followed accused, who admitted the theft. He also admitted taking a paper on six other mornings from the same residence.
