DEMOCRATIC LABOUR

ELECTION CANDIDATES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 17. The Democratic Labour Party, through its Dominion secretary, Mr. F. M. Earle, last night announced the names of candidates for the general election for Masterton. Pahiatua, and Hawke’s Bay seats. They are:— Masterton.—Aircraftman Donald A. Thompson, -aged 32 years, a farmer in civil life. He was born at Masterton and is a married man with two children.

Pahiatua. —Mr. Edward Ellis, of Palmerston North, a member of a pioneer family, who served four years in the Great War. Hawke’s Bay: Mr. John H. Winter. D.C.M., of Tutira, served on Gallipoli and in Flanders during the Greal War.
