Early Gisborne Lambs

Early lambs are appearing on numbers of properties in the Gisborne flat land, some farmers having as many as 100 or more. This is abotd the usual time for the black-facerl lambs to commence appearing in any numbers, but it will be a week or a fortnight before the lambing on the fiat becomes general, while the high country lambs are not expected until next month. Breeding ewes that were running with Southdown rams and due to lamb during the next week or so were in keen demand at the Malowhero stock sale yesterday, their values taking a sharp jump on those secured previously, the very close approach of the general lambing period for that type of ewe no doubt having a stimulating effect on the market.'
