Food in England
Comment on the food position in England is contained in a letter received by his parents from an Auckland airman now on the south coast. “There is plenty to eat here,” he says. “In our mess we get more than in Canada. You can get afternoon tea in any of the places round about. I had mutton and roast potatoes in a restaurant and it was really very good. Fruit is short.”
