Members of the Church of Christ, Roebuck road, on Saturday night extended a welcome to Mr. R. S. Marshall, evangelist, and Mrs. Marshall and baby daughter, from Hokitika. The largo gathering was presided over by Mr. A. W. Ilall.

A coincidence was that Mr. Marshall's father, Mr. F. J. Marshall, was pastor here eight years ago and many remembered the good work that 1 he did during the very trying depression years.

The Rev. A. Blakcmore, on behalf of the Ministers' Association, welcomed the guest of honour, as did also Messrs. F. Gardner, H. Halliwcll, F. Halliwell and Mrs. E. Nunns, representing different departments of the church activities. The ladies of Ilia church handed round refreshment. l ;. On Sunday afternoon Hie boys and gil ls’ brigade gave Mr. and Mrs. Marshall a welcome tea. at which over 60 were present.
