U.S. FORCES IN AUSTRALIA

EXTENSION PLANNED (9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY. May 12. To promote co-operation between Australia and the United States in radio entertainment for American, troops stationed in this area. Mr. Leith Stevens, radio director of the United Slates Office of War Information, is visiting Australia. It is hoped to increase the number of American programmes which may be broadcast here, and that recordings of Australian activities may be made for broadcasting in America.
