FATAL COLLISION
MOTOR-CAR AND TRUCK As a result of a motor-collsioii near Te Awamutu, one of the occupants of a light car was killed and two others injured, one of .them seriously. A light ear driven by Mr. James Hunter, a preacher, of 4 Hall street, Frankton, who was accompanied by Mrs. Gwendoline Mary Raven, Hamilton, and Mr. and Mrs. George Albert Brown, of Hamilton, was travelling toward Te Awamutu. On Taylor's Hill, a mile and a-half front the town, it was involved in a collision with a Home Guard truck driven by Ser-geant-Major F. Mills, of Hamilton. Mr. Brown, aged 48, was killed. Mr. Hunter suffered a broken thigh and other serious injuries and Mrs. Eaven received a cut to the head. Mrs. Brown escaped injury. The two injured • passengers were taken to the Waikato Hospital, where Mr. Hunter’s condition is regarded as very serious.
