A. & P. ASSOCIATION PRIZE-MONEY AS BEFORE OFFICERS NOMINATED Normal show activities are to be resumed by the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association, which is to hold a two-day show on Wednesday and Thursday, October 27 ancl 28. This was decided by the association’s general committee at a meeting yesterday afternoon, after a sub-com-mittee selected to consider the matter recommended that the show be held ns usual. The president, Mr. Lawson Field, said that he had spoken to many people, who saw no reason why show activities should not return to normal this year, hi adopting the recommendation of the sub-committee, the meeting had before it a letter from the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Association, which advised that it had fixed its show for October 20 and 2L The meeting agreed that the Gisborne show should bn held on the Wednesday and Thursday of the following week, instead of Tuesday ancl Wednesday as in the past, in order to ' avoid having to secure workers on Labour Day. It was also agreed that the schedule and prize-money should be the same as at the last show. It was agreed that the net show proceeds should be devoted to patriotic purposes. There was only one objecli®s to the motion regarding the proeoeefe: Mr.'R. C. Parker stating that only a proportion of the proceeds should be given. Lost Year’s Finance The interim statement of income and expenditure for the past 12 months placed before the meeting showed that a balance of £154 had been placed to capital, compared with £G9 the previous year.
