GISBORNE PILOT’S BAG SQUADRON-LEADER GRAY (Special Correspondent.) (10.30 a.in.) LONDON, April 7. Squadron Lender C. F. Gray, D.F.U. jml lmr, of Gisborne one of many New Zealanders flying Spitfires over Tunisia —shot down a Messersclimitt 109 on Saturday, liis third victory during the last 10 days. Squadron Leader Gray’s score now totals 20}. “I saw two Messersehmitts above me and thought I had no chance to get at them, but one of them went into a turn and I had him,” Squadron Loader Gray said. “I let him have my canons and machine-guns and he went down in flames.”
