FOOD PRODUCTION

.PROGRAMME OF U.S.A. LONDON, Nov. 30. The United States Secretary of Agriculture, Mr. Claude R. Wickard, has outlined a farm production programme for 1943 and called on Amer? ican farmers for the biggest output ever made. He estimated that lendlease requirements would take a quarter/ of the American food output, for next year and the greater part of the responsibility for supplying the United Nations with food rested with American farmers. As the United Nations’ offensive progressed there would be the added responsibility of finding food for the people in the countries freed from the Axis yoke. United States food supplies would be needed for them so that they could join in the war against the aggressors.
