AUSTRALIAN LOAN. WAR EFFORT PRAISED (P.A.) WELLINGTON,.;-this day. The Prime Minister, the Rt.. Hon. P. Fraser, was .associated with the. Australian Prime Minister., Mr, J. .Curtin, on Sunday night in his call for still greater personal sacrifices in the prosecution of the war. Mr. Fraser’s voice was heard in Australia, the radio-telephone being used to transmit his address to the Commonwealth. Mr. Fraser paid a tribute to Australia’s contribution to date in the prosecution of the war, both in the field and in the sphere of production. ... ' f , , To-day, said Mr. Fraser, it was given to every citizen to make the fullest possible contribution, direct or indirect, towards the attainment of victory. Mr. Fraser expressed confidence that.there will be a spontaneous response to the Australian war loan appeal. On behalf of the. .people of New Zealand, he congratulated the - Commonwealth on the .fighting spirit and courageous deeds of its armed forces and on the, outstanding achievements of the civilian workers. “We in this .country,” he conclud’d “are proud. indeed to be marching side by side once, again with these men who, a generation ago, made Anzac a term .of imperishable fame and who are at present winning as great renown wherever in air, sea of land blows are being struck for freedom.”
