FUND FOR VICTORY (9.30 a.m.) OTTAWA,. Oct. 5. Broadcasting to Australia in connection with the Commonwealth’s! loan campaign, the Canadian Prime Minister, .Mr W. L. Mackenzie King, declared that .Canada would shortly launch a/similar campaign. .Mr Mackenzie. King added; “Our war loans are essential ~not only .lor the immediate prosecution of the war and jthe attainment of - victory, but equally to the achievements of a new world order. Every Allied victory brings the struggle nearer to its close. For that,reason money cannot be. tooquickly and too largely .subscribed.” Referring to the anniversary of, Mr Curtin’s assumption of the Prime Ministership of Australia, he sgid: “1, know something of. the responsibilities of the leader .of a Governmenf in wartime. I therefore extend congratulations to Mr Curtin on so significant an anniversary:” . . y -
