PARLIAMENT SESSION
RESUMPTION TO-NIGHT t .' ___ SECRET DEBATE ON WAR (S.E.) WELLINGTON, this day. Parliament will resume to-night after being in recess since July 10. It is practically certain that a secret sitting will be held to-night, although the disposal of some formal business may precede it. There is rid clear indication of the possible length of the session. If the main intention is to make members conversant. with the war situation, particularly New Zealand’s war effort, a few days would suffice. However, it is hoped to complete the preparation of the departmental supplementary estimates, If they make their appearance the session may extend into next week. Beyond the possibility of the introduction of an amendment to the fair rents legislation, no hi«t has been given of the introduction of any other bills, and it has been definitely ascertained that there will be no measure making any further call upon the taxpayer.
